List of our Programs and Activities
The Arab American Scholarship Foundation Program: The Lebanese American Heritage Club is proud and privileged to be recognized as a leading advocate of higher education and to have the distinction of being the largest Arab-American Scholarship assistance program in the nation. Over the past twenty years, the Arab American Scholarship Foundation (AASF) has awarded over 1,000 Arab American students of high academic distinction over $1 million dollars in scholarships. Being aware of the importance and necessity of higher education, and the hardships and obstacles students are facing due to exorbitant tuition levels, the Lebanese American Heritage Club has established the AASF to encourage and help these young achievers to pursue their academic dreams. The mission of this program is to provide scholarships to deserving and underprivileged Arab American students who possess the skills and desire to seek higher education; including high school graduates, college undergraduates and graduate students.

Healthy Living Program: the primary mission of this program is to empower children in underprivileged communities to take control of their own health at the earliest age possible. Through a combination of cooking and fitness classes, children learn hands-on about the nutritional content of food and how diet directly impacts their health. Also, children are taught about the critical connection between diet, fitness, and school performance. Children learn how to identify certain foods that have been scientifically shown to improve memory, learning, mood and behavior.
Feeding our Neighbors: Wondering where our next meal is coming from is something most of us never have to worry about. However, for many families it's a constant concern. The LAHC has helped hundreds of hungry children and adults who rely on assistance from programs like the Feeding our Neighbors Program.
Thanksgiving Turkey Drive: It is hard to imagine Thanksgiving without a roasted turkey as the centerpiece of this traditional meal that brings families and friends together. Yet with rising food costs, and the economical burden that many families have to succumb to, a Thanksgiving celebration may be out of reach for many people. With support from the community, the LAHC has the systems and services in place to provide the holiday turkey to those less fortunate.
Back to School Program: In an effort to prepare students for their school year, the LAHC sponsors a backpack give away event. Over 1000 Backpacks filled with school supplies are distributed to local schools throughout Wayne County.
Kill the Cold: In order to bring warmth to the hearts and bodies of those less fortunate, the LAHC organizes a clothing drive which would aid those suffering during the winter season. Monetary donations & gently used clothes are collected annually to support this cause.
