Community involvement is an ongoing concern of the Lebanese American Heritage Club, and this involvement takes on different forms. Most importantly, the L.A.H.C. fully supports the "D.A.R.E" to Keep Kids Off Drugs" program in Dearborn. The club recently donated $1,000 to this program, and invited an officer from the Dearborn Police Department to outline the program to its members and the community. The D.A.R.E. program's focus is consistent with our belief that we can best fight the drug problem by attacking the demand side. We plan to continue doing our part to keep the community's children off drugs.

The L.A.H.C. is a long-time participant in the Memorial Day Parade in Dearborn, and in the Dearborn Homecoming since 1993. The club also helps community members participate in elections by explaining the process to them, and by providing transportation to help people get to the voting centers.

At the Lebanese Presidential Palace, in 1994, Emil Lahoud, President of Lebanon, accepts a plaque from Ali Jawad, Founder of the LAHC, commemorating the sister-city relationship between Qana and Dearborn
