Tamam Hammoud Bio
Tamam Ahmad Hammoud, was born in Tebnine, South Lebanon and attended the Ecole de Deux St. Coeur Elementary Private School and Tebnine Public Junior High School. Tamam immigrated to the United States of America in 1974 to continue her education, which she was under the guardianship of her older sister since she was only 14 years old at that time. She graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn in 1977, and attended Henry Ford Community College.
After four years of College, Tamam went back to Lebanon and worked in a variety of fields, specifically in executive positions including public relations as well as free lance journalism to a number of Lebanese and Arabic newspapers and magazines. Among many of her specialties, Tamam was a reporter for a U.S. Arabic speaking television station; "Sada al-Arab" T.V. in Lebanon. She founded and was a member of a number of Human Rights Associations in Lebanon, and participated as well as attended many conferences and events held in Beirut. Tamam returned to the United States in the year 2000 to continue her career. Currently Tamam is writing two books, one in the Arabic language "Rijalato Biladi" and a novel in English. Tamam is a popular member in the community as she writes in the "Assabeel" Arabic magazine in Detroit, Michigan which many readers stay tuned month after month to read and follow up with her column. Tamam became a member of the Lebanese American Heritage Club in January of 2008. Her hobbies include reading all kinds of books, as well as writing poems in both English and Arabic languages. Although Tamam is very busy these days writing and researching for her column and books, she always makes time for her family, friends and community activities.
