A Proud History

Who are we?

The Lebanese American Heritage Club (LAHC), founded in 1982 by Lebanese business owner and community leader, Ali Jawad, began as an athletic organization in Dearborn, Michigan, home to the largest, concentrated population of Arab Americans. Since its inception, the LAHC, a 501 c(3) non-profit organization, has expanded to serve its members and the greater Michigan community in a variety of ways through diverse programs and initiatives.

The organization's mission is to promote the educational, athletic, cultural and social advancement of the Arab American community and to serve as an institution dedicated to enhance relations between the Arab American communities at large.

Through the assorted initiatives of the LAHC, the organization has developed and advanced to encompass one of the largest ethnic scholarship programs in the nation, the Arab American Scholarship Foundation; established in 1988.

It is through these initiatives that the LAHC has been able to grow and become one of Arab America's most prestigious and well respected organizations; not only nationally but internationally recognized for its success and achievements.

LAHC members volunteer their time and make financial contributions to support the programs offered. With the support of the community and its business people, the LAHC is determined to carry on new missions that emphasize the unity of our community. With this thought in mind; we invite you to participate and to contribute to the community and to share in our success.
