A Lebanese immigrant, respected businessman, and community activist, Ali Jawad has worked unremittingly to establish an organization which provides the Lebanese and greater Arab American community with the social, cultural, educational and athletic programs needed for a growing population. The Lebanese American Heritage Club was established as an athletic association for young Arab Americans of Lebanese descent in November of 1982. Jawad applied himself selflessly, committing his time and personal funds to ensure that Arab American youth of all religious denominations had an organization which they could turn to in search of an outlet for their athletic interests. Over the last 26 years the LAHC has developed into a nonprofit organization serving the educational, social, professional, cultural, and fitness needs of the Metro Detroit Arab American community. His vision is unbounded and his knowledge of his community and its needs are vast which makes the LAHC an organization recognized, globally. Aside from his religious, social, and political activities, Jawad is co-owner and CEO of Armada Oil and gas Company with longtime friend Allie Berry, the Chairman of the Arab American Scholarship Foundation. An asset to the Arab American and Muslim American community in Michigan as well as in North America, Jawad is a dedicated and compassionate activist whose efforts and philanthropy are boundless. When we speak of the development of the Arab American community in Metro Detroit, Ali Jawad's name will be found in the first pages of its history.
