SAVE THE DATE 24th Annual Arab American Scholarship Foundation Dinner Friday May 11th, 2012 Hyatt Regency Hotel-Dearborn ______________________________ LAHC President to Address ICCF Event in California LAHC President Suehaila Amen was invited to deliver the keynote address on February 25 in California at the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno Banquet. The event, themed, “Changing Hearts: Sharing Our Faith” will discuss the Muslim American Experience. Amen will share her experiences filming “All American Muslim” while further discussing the importance of community organizing, volunteering and coalition building with other ethnic and religious communities. Her extensive work in the Muslim and Arab American community in Metro Detroit has placed her in a role of leadership for many years. “Suehaila Amen is an asset to any organization she works with,” states LAHC Founder Ali Jawad. “Her passion as an activist and dedicated volunteer work is respected as she is committed to the community, seeking to ensure its advancement and growth. She focuses a great deal of time on the youth and coalition building. We are proud of her accomplishments on a professional and personal level. She is a wonderful speaker and we are glad she is sharing her experiences with others across the nation.” _____________________________________________ Lebanese American from Detroit to be Honored by Crains Saad Chehab, Chief Executive Officer for the Chrysler/Lancia brands and appointed as a member of a new Group Executive Council (GEC) that has been formed in-line with the objective of enhancing operational integration of the two companies will be honored by Crain’s Detroit Business as a “Newsmaker of the Year.” Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Saad graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy as an architect and has been tremendously successful throughout his career in the U.S. automotive industry, with numerous notable achievements to his name, including the creation of the highly acclaimed Super Bowl commercial which featuring Detroit rapper Eminem for Chrysler in 2011. “We are proud of Chehab’s extraordinary professional achievements and commend him on his remarkable successes over the years in reinventing the image of Chrysler and the City of Detroit through the “Imported from Detroit” commercial,” states LAHC President, Suehaila Amen. “His talent, commitment and vision are evident in his work and being recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business is a prestigious honor.
